Environmental protection

In order for the organisation to effectively manage environmental protection, the first step is to identify the environmental aspects (element of activities, products and services that may be in mutual relation with the environment) and evaluation of their significance according to the influence they have on the environment.

Until ten years ago, environmental protection in the company was based on obligations prescribed by the legislation, which meant only the monitoring of wastewater, while tracking and interpreting the results of these analyses was not performed.

Today, despite the legal obligation of monitoring wastewater, submitting analyses reports to relevant ministries, we analyse these reports in order to maintain the level of results in the limit values prescribed by the regulations. With additional works on drains, we try to improve the quality of released technological wastewater.

By measuring the emission of particulate matter we only confirm that we have minimised pollution, i.e. that we are within limit values, which is achieved by incorporating devices and filters that reduce emissions in the air.

After years of uncontrolled waste collection, mainly of raw materials, we have switched to organised and selective collection and separation of waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous, in accordance with the Waste Management Plan, the official act of the company. All of the waste is submitted to authorised operators with whom Contracts were signed on the method of transfer and treatment of waste. All activities related to the protection of the environment in Rudnik are covered by the project documentation, which is in line with the Law on the protection of the environment, such as the Impact Assessment Studies, Accident Prevention Policies, Projects of reclamation of degraded areas, etc.
