2026 Miners’ Day Celebrations

The Rudnik i flotacija Rudnik company organized on Thursday, 6 August, a celebration of the Miners’ Day and of the Open Door Day. The pit and flotation facilities were open to present and former employees and their families all day. Sports competition finals were organized in the fields and so was the “Best Fish Stew in 2026”, a competition in which the miners traditionally prepare this meal.

On the occasion of the Serbian Miners’ Day, the “Vojislav Ilić” Cultural Centre in Rudnik organized an award presentation ceremony for all the recipients of jubilee awards – colleagues marking the 10th, the 20th, the 30th and the 40th anniversary of work and for the best miners and best women employees in the company for the previous year. The event included the presentation of a recognition for the oldest family and of diplomas and monetary awards for the employees’ children who took part in a project entitled “My Parents Work in a Mine”.

The programme also featured the exhibitions entitled “ Pride of the Past – Strength of the Future” and “My Parents Work in a Mine” showing the works of the employees’ children.
