Central Celebration of Miners’ Day and Open Day

The company Rudnik i flotacija Rudnik organized on Wednesday, 6 August the traditional celebration of Miners’ Day and Open Day. The mine and flotation facilities were open throughout the day for employees with their families and for company retirees. The sports grounds hosted the final sports competitions as well as the contest “Best Miners’ Stew 2025.”

On the occasion of marking Miners’ Day of the Republic of Serbia, a formal award ceremony was held in the Vojislav Ilić Cultural Centre in Rudnik, presenting jubilee awards for 10, 20, and 30 years of service, as well as prizes for the best miners and the best female employee in the company for the previous year. The event also included a recognition for the oldest family and the awarding of diplomas and cash prizes to the children of employees who participated in the campaign “My Parents Work in the Mine.”

This year, Rudnik hosted the Central Celebration of Miners’ Day of Serbia, where awards were also presented to the best miners in Serbia from the Trepča mine – Zvečan, the Majdanpek copper mine, the Bor copper mine, and Rudnik i flotacija Rudnik from Rudnik.

In the gallery space of the Cultural Centre, two exhibitions were organized: “In Honor of the Miner” and a photo exhibition of the children who took part in the campaign “My Parents Work in the Mine.”
